Make room for decisions.
Some choices feel small until the team needs an answer to keep moving. Knowing what needs to be chosen next gives you time to compare options without feeling rushed.
At each update, ask which decisions are coming up and what information would help. If you are unsure about something, raising it early is more useful than hoping it will become clearer on its own.
- What has been completed since the last update?
- What is the team working on next?
- Which decisions need attention?
- Has anything changed that we should discuss?
Talk through changes before they happen.
It’s normal for an idea to evolve once you see a space taking shape. The important part is to pause and discuss a proposed change before anyone acts on it.
Ask how it affects the agreed work, the sequence of tasks and any decisions already made. A short written summary helps everyone remember the same conversation.
Make time for the final walk-through.
Near the end of the work, walk through the space together. Look at the finish, ask how new features work and note any remaining items in one place.
A good handover is a conversation, not just a set of keys. It is the moment to make sure you feel comfortable using the space and know who to contact if a question comes up later.
